Dr. Walton Smith Biography
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Knoxville, growing up on the family dairy farm in Farragut. He was a third generation graduate of Farragut High School. After earning his undergraduate degree from UT, he attended UT Memphis for medical school and completed his residency training in Columbia, SC. Dr. Smith returned to Knoxville in 1990 and has been in practice here ever since. Dr. Smith was an inaugural member of UT’s internationally recognized Physician’s Executive MBA program, completing his MBA degree in 1998. He and his wife Connie, who was also born and raised in Knoxville, have been happily married since 1983. They have three children – Zach, Luke, and Marah. Dr. Smith is an active member of Saint George Greek Orthodox Church. In his spare time he enjoys golf, mountain biking, and reading.
